EMCOSU-EURASHE valorisation workshop in Brussels

The valorisation workshop, which was organised by EMCOSU and EURASHE, took place in Brussels on 26th of February 2015.

The workshop entitled "Emerging Modes of Cooperation between Private Sector Organisations and Higher Education Institutions" addressed three interrelated questions:

  1. Which are the most relevant modes and results of cooperation?
  2. What determines cooperation?
  3. Which are future developmental needs?

The workshop was opened by Johan Cloet, EURASHE Secretary General, followed by four presentations from:

  • Thorsten Kliewe, CEO at University Industry Innovation Network from the Netherlands;
  • Samo Pavlin, EMCOSU coordinator from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia;
  • Mieczysław Bąk, Deputy General Secretary at the Polish Chamber of Commerce;
  • Robert Wagenaar, General TUNING Coordinator, University of Groningen from the Netherlands.

Thorsten Kliewe presented evidence-based UBC development with the focus on key results from surveys and directions to move forward. Samo Pavlin had a presentation on Key findings of the EMCOSU project: considerations for higher education institutions and employers, while Mieczysław Bąk addressed perspectives of chambers of commerce on university-business cooperation. Robert Wagenaar had a presentation on Policy Implications of University-Business Cooperation in Europe from the perspective of the TUNING Academy.

The valorisation workshop has finished by the round table and networking for participants.
